A report template that stops fighting you
A LaTeX class for technical reports with a typographic scale that holds up across figures, tables and long equations.
Typeset
The problem
Default templates handle body text and then give up. Add a wide table, a two-column figure and a displayed equation, and the vertical rhythm falls apart — so everyone patches it with manual spacing that breaks on the next edit.
The approach
I set one baseline grid and made every element — captions, equation spacing, table padding — a whole multiple of it. Constraining the system made the individual decisions almost automatic.
